Off on a Holiday!

Flying off to Bandung, Indonesia tomorrow morning so there won't be any new posts in the next few days..

Packed up some gaming stuff for entertainment!

My PS Vita with Mortal Kombat and AC Liberation and my iPad with AC Pirates. Will do a review of AC Pirates once I'm back.

Thankfully, my PS Vita case can hold the game cards so I don't have to bring the game cases along. Leaving the chargers at home as well to reduce luggage. Doubt I will spend my holiday playing that much so battery should last for the trip.

Once I'm back, I'll do some posts on my Top 5 Games of the year, Top 5 Collectibles etc, so do look out for that next week.

That's all for now.. Enjoy gaming! I'm gonna miss my games but thankfully I have these to keep me company!

My AC IV Collection!

Here it is! My entire AC IV Collection in 1 pic!

Gonna look awesome as a display! The figures look real small here, just the sheer number of things in this picture. This is everything that I have related to Assassin's Creed IV.. Well almost..

Missing a couple of things; I couldn't find the AC IV Cel Art, which is one of the first collectibles I got from AC IV, way before the game's release. It's in a bag full of comics and other art prints but I can't seem to find the whole bag. It's probably somewhere in there along with the other boxes. There's also the huge AC IV poster, which is the first ever item from AC IV. Then there's the Tankard which I totally forgot about when I was taking this pic. That's the problem when your items aren't on display, you forget what you even have..

Some close-ups of the various items.. All stuff that you might have seen before in my blog before, with more detailed pics.

A lot of cool stuff but I'm not done yet. There's still a couple more items coming in, but I couldn't wait to take this pic. There's also some other items that I'm trying to hunt down but might not be able to get them anytime soon.

It's been a fun several months collecting there. Many of these items have been announced way before the game's release, so the decisions on which to get, the pre-orders, the waiting etc have all made another AC release a fun year for collecting.

The statues of every Assassin have always been my personal favourite but this year have thrown out more interesting items..

The Jackdaw Replica, The Art of AC IV book, the SpyGlass are all very interesting items in expanding my AC Collection.

But I still feel the collection is incomplete.. Yes there are still more items to come but that's not what I'm talking about. I have talked about AC IV is special in the entire series and the reason being that it was hugely developed in Singapore. As a Singaporean, I feel a weird sense of pride when AC IV is discussed and Ubisoft Singapore is brought up.

Of course, I have no direct connections to Ubisoft Singapore. But still it's special to know that a studio in Singapore has played a huge role in a Console game of this magnitude.

So what I am getting at? Haha!

I would really like an autographed AC IV item from Ubisoft Singapore. It's my little Christmas wish! IT could be anything, maybe a poster, a figure or if luck has it, something special within the employee community. if I could own any Ubisoft Singapore autographed item, it would really "complete" my AC IV collection! So here's my little shoutout to them as well as a special Christmas request on Christmas Eve...

Art of Assassin's Creed IV (Limited Edition)

Here's the Art of Assassin's Creed IV Artbook. I got the Limited Edition, which is limited to 500 pcs.

It came very well-packed, with 2 envelopes, 1 of which was a padded envelope, and also a fitted box. The art book itself came in absolutely perfect condition.

Artbook comes in a hardcover slipcase.
The front..
Opening it..

Pics of the Artbook pages.
Nearly 200 pages of awesomeness!
Abstergo Entertainment
Pirates
Shipwrecks
Mayan Temple
The Jackdaw
Underwater
Creatures of the Sea.
A very stylish artbook of very high quality. The hardcover and slipcase makes it a high-class collectible. It comes at a price too.  More expensive than the regular edition but it does show the difference in class.

The LE version also comes with 2 exclusive Lithos signed by their respective artists..

There are almost 200 pages of artwork from the game and it's a really beautiful book with the vibrant colours of the Caribbean. There are artwork of cities, pirates, building etc. A really cool book if you are a fan of the Art of AC IV.

The prints are also a nice touch for the exclusive LE version.

However, if the extras aren't a must for you, the regular should work fine. Unfortunately, I don't have the regular artbook to do a comparison but I'm very satisfied with the LE that I have gotten. So much so that I do intend to get the LE Art of Assassin's Creed III as well!

AC IV Italian Exclusive Corsair Edition Pics

Got yet another AC IV Collector's Edition on Tuesday, the Italian Exclusive Corsair Edition!

OH YEAH.. SCROLL DOWN THIS POST SLOWLY FOR SUSPENSE!

This is essentially a re-branding/re-boxing of the Skull Edition. Do click on the link to see the unboxed pics by a good friend, Jerome, whom I got to know recently.

So what makes this special? Or more importantly, why did I buy another one of this? We will see in a bit..

The Corsair Edition box is actually bigger than the Skull Edition Jumbo SteelCase to store something..

This strange white box..

What's inside?

Something wrapped in brown paper!

A wooden case!

Surprise Surprise! A wooden case with the AC IV emblem.. Like you didn't see it in the above pic?

It opens to reveal a plastic wrapped object of interest..

At this point of time.. Does it feel like you are really opening a Treasure Chest of Secrets?

Or maybe a Christmas Present?

Does it?

No?

Oh well..

Let's continue..

The Object of Interest..

Extends out to be a..

SpyGlass!

Not that it wasn't a SpyGlass before but now it's a functional SpyGlass!

Putting it back into the Wooden Case..

The only thing better than a cool item, is a cool item in a cool presentable box.

Yes.. so this SpyGlass was a pre-order bonus for the Corsair Edition and I had to get it. It certainly exceeded my expectations of it. Looks real classy with the wooden case. Maybe wood in Italy is cheap but I was expecting the case to be some cheap plastic.

The SpyGlass was also securely wrapped in bubble-wrap and plastic for maximum protection, so real happy with that. The SpyGlass itself looks real nice and classy. Not sure how accurate this is to the in-game SpyGlass that Edward Kenway uses so maybe the design could have been different. But still real nice.

It has a good weight to it and I believe the gold part of the SpyGlass is made of metal. Also nice to see that it isn't some cheaply-made item. The SpyGlass also actually works.. The magnification isn't crazy but try using it and you can actually see it's actually quite decent.

The wooden case also closes with a "click" so the lid isn't loose..

Really happy to see that this is a high-quality preorder bonus and not some cheap crap just to garner more sales. I suppose not many of these were made so it might be highly sought after, once more people hear about it.

So here's the back of the box.

Delayed this pic so I could build some suspense on what is in the box..

However, did a silly mistake on getting a PC version of the Skull Edition, which will be harder to sell away compared to the console versions. It's also a Italian based game so I'm not even sure if the game is in English. Could anyone help me on this? I'm pretty sure the manual is in Italian but what about the game itself? Will the dialogues and in-game menus be in English? Anyone? Perhaps some CE forum guys?

Or maybe I'll have to open this up to sell the contents separately? The extra disc case that's included in this is actually pretty cool that I might want to keep.

Anyway.. Here's all the contents together..

A truly stunning and classy item to add to my AC IV Collection!

Got to say, I'm a little envious but no regrets about not getting one for now. I'm still enjoying my PS3 games haha!

AC IV Black Chest Edition Unboxing Pics

Finally Photobucket is working fine again.. So managed to upload all the pics.

So here it is.. the very coveted Black Chest Edition from UK.. A big thanks to SneaksGalore from the CE forums for helping to forward this to me.

A huge box, enormous to say the least. Those who got the Asia Collector's Edition wouldn't be surprised at it's size as it's pretty much the same box. However contents-wise, this one has plenty more stuff.

Before we get to the contents..

Closer look at the front..
Top of the Box
The Back
Taking off the slipcover..
Really nice look to this CE.. Aptly named Black Chest Edition..

Lifting off the lid..

Firstly we have the Canvas Prints..

I think these are beautiful. One of the main reasons why I stuck to this UK edition even though the Asia edition was cheaper and had the statue. The Canvas Prints have turned out marvelous and it will be great for display. Very stunning artwork of Edward Kenway and the Jackdaw, which has been dubbed as the 2nd main character in the game. Hope to see more Canvas Prints in the future.

Closer looks..

There's also the Mini-Artbook, similar to the one from the US Limited Edition.

You can see some of the inside pics here.. Looking to sell this extra copy for SGD $20 if anyone wants it.

SteelBook..

The Game Case..

Ok... got to give a thumbs up to the decision-making here. I really applaud the decision to add a game disc in addition to the Steelbook case itself. I'm not a Steelbook collector myself, but I'm sure most Steelbook collectors wouldn't like to use the Steel case to store the game disc and then have to open and close each time they want to take out the disc. Wish more companies will follow this tradition for the sake of Steelbook collectors (as well as those who wish to sell away their Steelbook.. Like me! Will probably look at offers for this one).

The Black Flag..

Another flag to the collection! This is different from the one that came in the US Limited Edition. This one has a more tattered look, as you can see in the above pic, to give a worn-out feel.

The World Map.

This was actually a surprise because of the Red Seal. Interestingly, I haven't seen any pics of this so I wasn't expecting it to be roll-tied with a Red Seal. Looks very authentic with the strings, I'll be displaying it like in the first pic, very very nice!

The Litho Prints..

A little on the small side, which is a very slight disappointment but really digging the Edward Kenway Litho featuring this famous pose. More additions to the AC Litho collection. Can't wait to frame the lot!

Once again, my favourite and my highlight of the CE! The Statue!

Edward Kenway atop the Jackdaw base Statue! One big-ass statue! If future CE statues come as big and detailed as this, I will have no problems paying the increasing prices for CEs!

More pics..

Real nylon strings to tie, amazing detail, stunning base all make this statue worth the extra purchase even though many would say this is pretty much the same as the one in the Buccaneer Edition or the US Limited Edition, just with a different base.

The only problem with this, could be the fact that the Jackdaw base isn't in any way in the same scale as Edward Kenway himself but that's easy to look past with it's stunning presence. I don't have the space to put them up on display now but I will post a pic with all 3 Edward Kenway statues in a few days.

and here's all the contents..

An amazing Collector's Edition! Total cost of this including shipping was rather shocking but upon seeing all the contents, it's something I can stop worrying about. The long wait was also worth it.

The statue was definitely the main reason for getting this Black Chest Edition but the Canvas Prints were stunning too. All the extra contents also adds to the value of this awesome CE. Pricey but Quality!

This CE is definitely the most complete editions I have owned. Many CEs, though remarkable seem to have something or another  missing to feel complete. This one, however has everything a CE in this day and age should have; an awesome statue, the mini-art book, soundtrack, litho prints, steelbook with an extra disc case, a wonderful collector's box and top of that some nice canvas prints and a map of sorts. I can't think of anything that should have been in this CE. A remarkable Collector's Edition!
