Statue pics of The Order: 1886's Collector's Editions

Some pics have surfaced showing the 2 different statues from the CEs..

Got to say... Excellent Photography! The pics have really brought out all the details in the statues.

So far, only North America will be getting the CEs with the statues, so that sucks..

The statues have turned out very nice, now just to hope that the game lives up to the price of the 2 CEs.

PCS Mortal Kombat Klassic Sub Zero 1/4 Statue

So, you have seen Scorpion? Now for Sub Zero!

Another low number on the EX version!

Lovely Box Art as well..
Base..
The arms..
So many of them! Are you sure this isn't the Goro statue?

2 set of Normal arms..
This is one is similar to the Scorpion's pose in the Standard version.

Below are the only set of arms that you get from the Sub Zero Standard version..
Those are the 'recommended' poses for the Statue but of course you can mix them around for some fun like this..
The EX version doesn't have any alternate portrait unfortunately. Kinda disappointing, considering that a very early render showed an unmasked Sub Zero.

Still.. the EX version doesn't totally disappoint.. They included ice-arms!

Very cool icy effect.. here's a close-up..
A very tricky decision, which could have turned out making it look toy-ish but I think PCS managed to pull it off with fantastic results.

Just love it!

Will try to get Smoke's pics up asap. Just got the update that Reptile was shipped out yesterday and should be here by this Friday.

Unboxing video of the Assassin's Creed Unity Guillotine Collector's Case

Not mine haha.. But from Ubisoft Germany..

The Collector's Case is stunning, love the way it opens up, like the Guillotine itself. Statue is pretty big and nice. The Framed Canvas Print is impressive. Not really happy with the new portrait orientation of the art book, they should have kept it landscape like the previous CE art books.

Didn't see the Steelbook or whatever they are calling it now, but he does seem to mention something about that at the end. So any German friends can help with the translation?

Edit: Asked some friends who understood German and they translated that the guy in the vid mentioned that the Steelbook wasn't in the package for some unknown reason. (Probably still finalizing the design).

Pretty awesome stuff! Who's pre-ordering this?!

Assassin's Creed Unity Delayed!!!!

OMGWTFBBQ! FML! Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to die!!!

Relax.. It's just been pushed back 2 weeks to give more time to polish the game, according to Ubisoft. The new Release Date is Nov 11 2014, same day as AC Rogue's Release Date.

Standard excuse as always. Polish the game..

It could also be a marketing decision, or something to do with the plot. It's reported that AC Rogue will have ties with AC Unity so that might have affected the decision to push it back to the same day as AC Rogue.

I wonder if this will affect Far Cry 4's Release Date in any way..

Would have preferred to get AC Unity slightly earlier so I can start on it before moving on to AC Rogue but oh well..

Evolve Preview Event Round 2 - Part 2

So yes, this is Part 2 so you should be reading Part 1 first..

So after getting to try all 4 of the new Hunters, it was time to get our hands on the Kraken.

Haha, all of us were hesitant to go first, so first-timer Louis had to lead the way for us... And what a way to lead the way! In his first attempt as a Monster, he managed to win the match. Really good stuff! Gotta say he set the bar high for the rest of us. I would say, skill, luck and good guidance played a part.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, we didn't manage to follow in Louis' footsteps..

I felt I started well but lost the momentum after reaching Stage 2. Playing with the keyboard and mouse felt a lot better than my previous attempt with Goliath on the Xbox controller.

Based on my 2 experiences playing as the Monsters, I still find that the learning curve for the Monsters is a bit steeper than the Hunters. As the Hunters, you have allies to back you up but as the Monster, it's all you. Of course, if you know what you are doing, you won't have anyone dragging you down either.

The Kraken is faster, as compared to the Goliath, so it can get across the terrain quicker. This will help you get more space between the Hunters and yourself. Based on what I saw, it seemed much harder to track down the Kraken, even with the new Hunters' better tracking abilities. Probably because of that, I thought I saw more Krakens getting to Stage 3, in comparison to the Goliaths.

However, defense-wise, it seemed easier to take down a Kraken than a Goliath. That is, if you can catch it. Even at Stage 3, it didn't feel impossible to bring down a Kraken.

Offense-wise, I couldn't see much differences. Both have their close-range and long-range attacks and it's really hard to say whose is better.

My Preference: Kraken

Both the Kraken and the Goliath have their strengths and weaknesses. No surprise about that. While the Kraken is fast, it's life-bar goes down faster whereas the Goliath is tougher and harder to take down, but slower.

There's really not much to choose between them but I hate to sit on the fence, so I just marginally have to choose the Kraken. Personally, I believe that early speed advantage might come in handy.

The new Hunters seem to be a little bit more offensive as a team, as compared to the first 4 hunters. I'm curious to see how the first 4 Hunter Classes will fare against the Kraken.

However, you will be able to mix it up so it's going to be awesome having various strategies and combinations of Hunters. There's also going to be a 3rd set of Hunters as well as a 3rd Monster which will all be included in the release version of Evolve. So, that means the Pre-order bonus will allow you access to the 4th Monster. That is.. assuming that there will be no more surprises.. but with the release date being pushed back, who knows?

There should be new maps as well, but no other info about different game modes or single player.

There has been some tweaks and improvements to the user interface since the first event. Most notably, the Monster's health bar has been changed from a single long bar to segmented bars

As for the event itself, I enjoyed it. 2nd time playing Evolve and I'm as excited as ever. Once again 2K Asia was nice enough to give us some freebies for attending the event.

Awesome looking Tshirt! Will be an awesome memorabilia to remember the fun at the 2K Asia's office.

Front and Back of the Tshirt.

As always from 2K.. the Tshirt is of good quality too.

One more thing you can always expect from 2K Asia's game events.. Good food! They never let their fans go hungry at an event.

No pics though.. Haven't you heard? Photographing food may be a sign of Mental Illness..

Wonderful times.. Here's what my friends have to say..

Jerome: "I have better grasp of the controls this time round as I got the experience and skills from the first event. Therefore, I am able to play really well with the new set of hunters as well as the Monster, the Kraken".

Abhinandhan: "Evolve is looking like it's gonna be the next big multiplayer game on the PC/Consoles just like how Left 4 Dead was on the PC. The gameplay is mostly fast paced, tension filled and most importantly, a shit ton of fun".

Louis: "I'm the Boss Monster!" Nah just kidding but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant to say from the way he was grinning..

"Although, it was my first time experiencing the game, the overall visual and audio presentation was impressive, and the controls were easy to pick up. The team-play mechanic of taking down a big powerful monster is intense and rewarding, and vice-versa, the satisfaction of winning as the Monster against 4 Human players is equally immense. This fun concept of a game shows a lot of promise."

Glad you guys enjoyed it!

Oh 1 more important thing.. 2K Asia is going to try and have yet another event for the 3rd set of Hunters and the 3rd Monster, so do watch their Facebook Page for the latest updates from Evolve.

PCS Mortal Kombat Klassic Scorpion 1/4 Statue

The first of the 4 Ninjas from Pop Culture Shock Collectibles' Klassic line is here!

It's been a super long wait for this. Pre-ordered back in Nov 2012 and just got it in August 2014. Might have set a new record for the longest wait.

My expectations rised for this as the wait grew longer but as the wait kept dragging on, it started to fall. I don't think they actually took more time to work on it but rather just delaying production and mass-produce all 4 ninjas at the same time. Which meant having to rush through a lot more pieces.

Anyway, it's finally here and I was excited and concerned about how my piece would turn out.

Some pics of the box art..
Oh and did you see that?! Number 3!

#003 of 200 is awesome! I got the Sideshow Exclusive which was limited to just 200 pieces. The brown shipper does show 225 but apparently that's the Batch size while the COA shows the Edition size.

Opening it up..
All the pieces..
The Base..
The Base was a little dusty. Someone on the forums was saying they noticed it too, as if it was sitting on a warehouse shelf for some time. Even their statue was dusty apparently.. thankfully, mine didn't have the same problem.

And Behold.. I bring you Scorpion!
This is the masked head that comes with the Standard Version and the 'Reptile Arms' that is exclusive to the EX version.

Closer look..
Love the detail of the muscles and veins!

And the eyes..

The cloudy eye look is just perfect. Gives Scorpion that extra sense of realism.

Changing back to the hands that the Standard version would have..
Just lovely..

Of course, The EX version isn't all about alternate hands. It comes with a pair of Alternate Portraits(or Heads)

Check out the un-masked Skull Head..
This is a very awesome option and the cool thing about this was that it wasn't even supposed to be there. When the pre-order went up, there were only 2 portraits but somewhere along the way, long after it was sold out, PCS decided to add this into the mix. Very very cool of Jerry and PCS to throw this in!

Stunning and creepy, but that isn't my favourite head. I will be going for this one for my display..
Swapping with the "Reptile hands"
For me, this is the head that sold it. When the pre-order went up, it sold fast. Within 3-4 hours, it was down to the last 20 pieces. I immediately knew it was a 'now-or-never' decision. I looked through all the pics again and there was something about this particular head that hooked me.

Staring deep into those eye sockets, I felt that I was about to sell my soul to the devil himself. Getting this would mean hundreds of dollars being thrown into this line but how could I say no?

I finally gave in and did the pre-order. I knew then and there that the Klassic Scorpion would become one of my most iconic pieces in the collection. Looking at it now, I have no regrets whatsoever.

The masked skull head is my favourite because of how it's a combination of the Skull and the Masked Heads. It's like a reminder of how Scorpion is actually a Spectre under that Ninja outfit.

I'll update the blog soon with the other Ninjas. SubZero and Smoke are here already, still waiting for Reptile.
