Oh and I say New-Gen because the gaming world seems to be still divided on the PS4 and Xbox One Consoles being Current-gen or Next-gen.
All these Remastered games don't usually interest me and while I accept that some games do deserve a Remastered version, many seem pointless.
GTA V, however, does deserve a Remastered release. While it was beautiful, GTA V did suffer visually from the sheer size of the game. On the new-gen consoles, Rockstar claims it will receive 'major visual and technical upgrades'.
I'm not a customer of Remastered games for my PS4 till now. Absolutely loved The Last of Us, but playing the PS3 copy was enough for me. However, for the PS3, I do have several Remastered games. To name a few; Prince of Persia Trilogy and the God of War Collection (1 & 2). Those were games I played on the PS2 but I wanted to play it again, as I didn't have my PS2 and those 'ahem' games anymore.
So, I wasn't considering getting GTA V for my PS4 just for the improved graphics, but.... (There's always a but, isn't there?)
The PS4, Xbox One and the PC are going to get exclusive content. The exclusive content mentioned are:
- New weapons, vehicles and activities
- Additional wildlife
- Denser traffic
- New foliage system
- Enhanced damage & weather effects
- 100 additional songs across the 17 Radio stations.
- $1m in-game cash split evenly between story mode and GTA Online (if you pre-order)
- Up to 30 players in a single GTA Online 'lobby'
- and more!
This changes everything, doesn't it?
I just went from 'most-probably-not' to 'definitely-yes'!
Existing players should also note that they will be able to port their Online characters to either one of the new platforms. Which means, not just PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One.
So, it looks like I'm heading back to Los Santos at the end of the year! Who's joining me?
