Prime 1's TMNT Raphael Collection pics

I have always maintained that I wouldn't want to collect anything other than gaming collectibles. Not that I have no interest in other forms of entertainment but there's just too many to collect out there.

However, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been something I decided that they should still be part of my life. I started out small, with some of the Playmates figures. I have the Classic collection, the new movie figures and the re-made retro figures..

But.. you know the drill... It only begins small.. With the success of the new movie and the animated Nickelodean show, TMNT has been given a major popularity boost and we are seeing much bigger collectibles in the past year.

And.. when I say big, I mean Prime 1 Big! Prime 1 Studio's collectibles are huge and very expensive but they don't lack in quality. I was absolutely blown away by their previews and even saw the Raphael statue in person at Simply Toys.

So... I just had to get it. Pre-ordered it from Simply Toys sometime back and I just received them last week.

It came in 2 separate shipping boxes.

No 337/1500

I thought the Edition Size was a bit too much for something so pricey though.

The Base

Don't mind the ruler, that's the only one I could find.. But that is a 10cm high base!

Amazing detail on the base, with the old newspapers and the 'wet-look' to replicate a dirty New York City alley.

Simple instructions manual for assembly..

The opp side of the paper is in Japanese.

Now some pics of Raphael.

Chewing on some paper?
Still chewing..
Ok enough chewing on that now..

Now he chews on some toothpick..
The head can be removed to position the eyes.

This is as cross-eyed as he can get..

In opp directions..

Let's put on his headbands..

and the shades..

Now for a closer look at all the details..

Amazing details, looks very, very life-like.

An amazing piece! I was one of those who absolutely hated the new Turtles' designs but they eventually grew on me after watching the movie.

The statue and base pieces are hollow so it's not as heavy as it looks. Practically, that's good thing for shipping. I remember the PureArts' Connor Premium Statue being painfully heavy. It was a tiring process just moving it around.

Raphael isn't as heavy however, or maybe I have just become stronger after all the recent heavy statue lifting.. Haha!

I have only pre-ordered Raphael but I definitely intend to go the other 3 as well. It's not going to be cheap but with all 4 Turtles, it will make for a fabulous display. Hopefully, with the 1500 ES, it won't be selling out too fast.

On a side note, I didn't see any COA in the box. Looked all over for it but I just can't find it. So, if anyone else has this, can you let me know if there is a COA included with these?

Prime 1 isn't the only company I bought some Turtles figures from. I have ThreeZero's 1/6 Movie Turtles as well as Mondo's 1/6 Original Comic Turtles (Leo & Don so far) pre-ordered. So I'll be updating the blog with pics once I get them.
